14 B2B Thinkers to Follow on Twitter
Fri, Oct 2, 2009
One of the best values that Twitter offers is the opportunity to follow smart people and to listen to what they have to say. As Twitter is a conversational medium, you also have the chance to interact with people in your industry that you may have never met. It’s a great way to build relationships, gain insight and have some people to seek out at conferences you may attend. The following is a list of some top B2B thinkers worth following on Twitter. This list is meant to get you started in the space, or to let you know a few more people to follow. If there are others in the B2B space that have provided value to your Twitter experience, let us know in the comments below.

Great list here – thanks for putting this together.
Thanks for the list (and including myself). I’m fortunate that I’ve been able to meet with many of these folks and they are certainly all worth a follow.

Great networking info, since I’m a BtoB communicator. You might want to add David Meerman Scott and Sally Falkow. They are not exclusive to BtoB but their insights regarding social media and marketing are in-depth. David’s books are great, and his blog.

Thanks for including me on a list of people that I deeply admire…in fact, I think I follow every single one of them! Happy Friday
Elizabeth
@Jason: Appreciate the quick comment from moments after this post was published.
@Kyle: Thanks for the comment. Agreed, as we have had the chance to meet many people on this list. Keep doing what you do.
@David: Thanks for suggesting that people follow David (http://twitter.com/dmscott) and Sally (http://twitter.com/SallyFalkow). There are lots of great social media and marketing folks to follow, but those may be lists for another day.
@Elizabeth: Happy to include you in a list with others you admire. Thanks for your endorsement of people on the list. Anyone else you would add?
Thanks! It is very flattering to have made your list!
Jeff,
Wow, thank you so much. I’m honored to be included with such wonderfully smart people!
Here is a true list of B2B Corporate Brands on Twitter and it’s growing daily. I invite you to follow this and contribute. I’m currently researching the use of Twitter for internal employee communications. In addition to this growing list, we have a monthly face-to-face “mindshare” in Atlanta with B2B companies looking at social tech for employee comp. As the research continues, we’ll be reporting various findings. There are currently only a handful of these pioneers.

Thanks!

@B2BCorpComm
Nancy: Thanks for sharing your work with B2B brands. These folks really are pioneers.
We would love to hear more about Twitter for internal communications as your research progresses.
I sure will, Jeff! I just added Social Media B2B to my blog. I’m a late bloomer *blush* and just started my blog 2 days ago as a central location to collect people’s suggestions for B2B companies to add to my list. Now I need a 12-step group for bloggers!
Is it odd that people have to ‘register’ to leave comment? Is there a different provider I should be using or is this the status quo?
http://b2bcommunications.blogspot.com/
Nancy: Comment registration is required to reduce spam, however, even with it, spammers hire humans to leave spam comments, rather than relying on automated programs.
never met him and don’t know that much about him but @jeffdachis seems appropriate. Best known as the founder of Razorfish but now focused on “Social Business Design” at Dachis Group based in Austin.
Doug:
Thanks for the suggestion. I added @jeffdachis, as well as @armano to the Twitter List that has replaced this post: http://twitter.com/smb2b/b2b-thinkers
