Will Twitter B2B Social Media Marketing Conversation Surpass Blogs?
Tue, Apr 7, 2009
I often use Trendrr to help me monitor and graph out web related trends. For the past month I have had the service monitor mentions about B2B social media marketing. I had it take and compare mentions between Google Blog Search and Twitter to help determine if more conversations are taking place on one or the other. A quick look at he graph above shows a steady decline in blog mentions for B2B social media marketing while Twitter mentions are very sporadic, with dips during the weekend.
What does this mean? I interpret this data to show that the leading edge B2B social media marketing discussions are shifting to Twitter, but still blogs are where the majority of the conversations are on this subject are happening. With people still working to figure out B2B and social media it only makes sense that the longer format available on a blog is more popular.
